Today, our folk who come in for lunch, games, general social involvement and such, were decorating the Christmas tree. Within a context, or at least supposedly, of thinking about potentiality and how it might be fulfilled, as an advent theme. The supposedly is because I was trying to talk about it, but what with one thing and another, I was less than coherent.
But the point was, the tree is kept locked away for 48 weeks a year, and it was in their hands to help it blossom, expand, become beautiful and fulfil its potential.
Not sure I made much sense, but people had fun doing it – both the decorating, and making some decorations.
It was fun – and it went well, even though I was not saying what I was tyring to say. People made the tree look lovely, and various folk said how much fun it was.
So – my advent moment? Stuff may happen which isn’t what you expect. And that’s as it should be!
