A poem for midsummer

or at least part of one….

This is a section of Strawberries, by Edwin Morgan. I love this; let the storm wash the plates….

let the sun beat
on our forgetfulness
one hour of all
the heat intense
and summer lightning
on the Kilpatrick hills

let the storm wash the plates
